A whole new world

It’s officially summer in the Philippines and what better way to deal with the scorching summer heat than to head off to any one of the country’s 7,107 beaches :)

Life under the sea is a whole new world, specially in areas that are declared as marine sanctuaries. Thanks to vigilant residents and LGUs who are safeguarding our marine resources and ensuring that endangered marine species are given a new lease on life, we have secret gardens to show off to the world.

Swim with the whale sharks in Donsol, Sorsogon or in Oslob, Cebu. View giant sea turtles in their natural habitats in Apo Island, Negros Oriental and in Balicasag and Pamilacan Islands, Bohol.

Then there is the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in Palawan which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1993.
